The Central Jersey Bird Club has a long-standing and unwavering commitment to excellence in aviculture. Our primary goals are education and support for avian research and conservation. To gather information and share it with all who desire to promote the health and welfare of all avian species, particularly those that are kept or bred as pets and identified as endangered species.
CJBC was founded in 1991 by Alice and George Luchento, bird enthusiasts for many years. It serves Somerset, Union and Middlesex counties, but has members from other areas as well. We currently have about 150 active members and are growing all the time.

Become a Member!
Membership in CJBC is simple. Just fill out the Membership Application at your first meeting. Dues are $20 per year for a single member or $25 per family.
Benefits of Membership
Meetings are held at 7:30 on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the National Starch & Chemical (NSC) Company in Bridgewater, NJ. In August, our club vacations and there is no meeting or newsletter.
Meetings generally consist of a short business update, new member introductions, an educational presentation by a guest speaker on a variety of topics, a show & tell session and an opportunity to chat with other bird owners. Meetings are open to everyone who is interested in birds. Visitors are always welcome.

Newsbeak, our monthly newsletter, keeps you up-to-date on club information, coming events, educational materials, affiliation happenings and state & local concerns. Informative articles from Newsbeak and other sources will be published here.
NJ has strong regulations pertaining to exotic birds. These regulations are of concern to many pet owners and breeders. CJBC and the other bird clubs of New Jersey have come together to review these regulations, inform members about them and discuss methods of addressing concerns about them.
